'Mario Bros. Movie' director explains why bricks can float

With the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, more stories about Mario characters have been revealed. Although fans have played Mario games for decades, they learned for the first time that the Italian plumber actually has parents. In addition, the director of this film also explained the bricks in the air in the Mushroom Kingdom.

For gamers, it is no stranger to see bricks floating in the air in the Mario series of games, but for viewers who are new to the series, a reasonable explanation is needed.

Aaron Horvath, director of Super Mario Bros. Movie, talked about this in an interview with Variety. The team came up with the term "floatanium", which is said to be a mineral unique to the Mushroom Kingdom that makes the bricks float in the air. This natural mineral produced in the Mushroom Kingdom is mined by the Toads and used for various buildings.

"Super Mario Bros. The Movie" is now in theaters around the world.
