The sequel to the "Batman" movie, "The Batman - Part II", has been officially announced and is scheduled to be released in North America on October 3, 2025. The announcement is part of Warner Bros.' broader plans for the new DC Universe and its various spinoff projects, more than one of which will feature Batman. In addition to announcing the release date, DC Films architects James Gunn and Peter Safran also confirmed that the new Batman will be a trilogy. "Matt is working on Batman 2, which he sees as a Batman crime saga that also includes the Penguin TV show," Gunn said. "That's his own thing, and he's working on it. He came in the other day and pitched us something amazing, really cool. So the plan is to keep doing that." Safran added: "And Batman is not a stepchild. I mean, it's all under DC. We're fully invested in the success of Batman, just like we are in everything else." |
