The film was released in North America on March 10. It tells the story of four young people who survived a fierce battle with the Ghostface Killer. They left the town of Woodsboro and started a new chapter. However, they will face the Ghostface Killer again...

The fifth survivor Melissa Barrera, Jasmine Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega continue to star, and directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Taylor Gillette and screenwriters James Vanderbilt & Guy Busie also return. Hayden Panettiere returns to play her character Kirby in the fourth film, and Dermot Mulroney, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devin Nicota, Josh Segarra, Henry Czerny, Samara Weaving, and Tony Revolori have newly joined the cast.
