The protagonist of "Predator: Bad Land" is the Predator, not the heroine

Dan Trachtenberg, the director of the 2022 film Predator: Prey, recently gave an exclusive interview to Empire Film Magazine, during which he revealed that the protagonist of the new Predator film Predator: Bad Land is the Predator, not the heroine Elle Fanning.

He told Film Magazine: "The monster is at the forefront and leads the story, and he's still powerful, but there's also something that touches you emotionally. It was challenging but exciting to create a character that you connect with but also that scares you so much."

The producer added that the idea for this approach came from "a desire to find another major cinematic effort that would do in spirit what Prey did - push the boundaries of the franchise and make us root for a hero we rarely root for - but in a different way".

This raises questions about the role of Predator: Bad Land star Elle Fanning, who the Empire article revealed will play multiple roles, but did not reveal the specific details of those roles.
