Hollywood actress Anne Heche dies in car accident, all organs donated

Anne Hatch's spokesperson confirmed that Anne was in a state of brain death, although her heart was still beating and she could be declared dead under California law.

Because Anne had signed an organ donation agreement before her death, her condition is temporarily maintained by an external life support system until a suitable recipient is found. It is expected that her organs can be removed as early as tomorrow and no later than next Tuesday.

Her spokesperson said that Anne was involved in a serious car accident on August 5 local time. Her lungs were burned by high-temperature smoke and she fell into a coma. Her chances of survival are slim.

The Los Angeles Police Department later found drugs in Anne's blood sample and suspected that she had committed DUI. However, a police spokesman said on Friday that it was meaningless to continue the investigation under the current circumstances, and the information and physical evidence would still be filed but would not be used for charges.
