Li Bingbing will not return to "The Meg 2" and it has been confirmed that Wu Jing will join hands with Jason Statham

Recently, according to an exclusive report by foreign media Variety, Li Bingbing will not return in "The Meg 2", but Cai Shuya, who played her daughter in "The Meg", will continue to star.

The movie "The Meg 2" recently announced that Wu Jing will join the cast and will work with Jason Statham to fight against the prehistoric giant shark. The film started shooting in early February. According to Variety, the film will be shot in the UK until May, and then will be filmed in another location, possibly in Asia.

Jason Statham, the male lead of "The Meg", has confirmed his return to "The Meg 2: Abyss". Wu Jing has now joined the film. Ben Wheatley ("Rebecca" and "Skyscraper") is directing, and screenwriters Joe Hobel & Erich Hobel are returning. It is expected to be released in 2023.
