Godzilla, Titans, and the rest of the MonsterVerse are all set to come together in the latest Apple TV+ series. The untitled series will take place after the events of the film Godzilla: King of the Monsters and will show the inner workings of the mysterious organization Monarch from the film. The new series will be produced by Legendary Pictures, with Chris Black, whose credits include Star Trek: Enterprise, as executive producer and will also serve as the show's creator. He will be joined by comic book writer Matt Fraction and Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures. On the Toho side, Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will serve as executive producers. Legendary Pictures' "Monsterverse" began with the 2014 film "Godzilla", followed by "King Kong: Skull Island" in 2017, then "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" and the latest film "Godzilla vs. Kong". There is also a planned "Skull Island" animation in production. This will be Godzilla's first series since the long-awaited "Godzilla series" (closer to the 1998 live-action movie). At that time, there were many disagreements between Toho and the American studio, which led to the subsequent cooperation being stopped. Currently, the show has not announced its cast and premiere date. |
