The official adaptation of the animation "His Highness" announced the decision to produce the second season

The animation of the same name adapted from the manga "His Highness" created by Yusei Matsui, was created by the well-known animation production company CloverWorks. It was aired in July 2024 (until September 28) and the first season was completed.

The manga "His Highness the Master of Escape" was originally serialized in Shueisha's weekly manga magazine "Weekly Shonen Jump" from January 25, 2021. It won the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award and the current volume has been published to 17 volumes.

It is understood that the second season of the animation may start from the 32nd episode of the original work, but the official has not yet revealed more information about the production, broadcast time, and voice actor lineup. However, there are reports that due to the success of the first season's peripheral products (sales exceeded 100 million yuan), the official will invest about 150 million yuan in the production of the second season of the animation.

The original story of "His Highness the Master of Escape" tells the story of the Kamakura Shogunate, which was ruled by samurai warriors, and was destroyed by the rebellion of the trusted shogun Ashikaga Takauji in 1333. Hojo Tokiyuki, the legitimate heir to the shogunate, lost everything and fell into the abyss of despair. He escaped from the burning Kamakura under the guidance of Suwa Yorishige, a priest who claimed to be God. After escaping, he arrived at Suwa, met a reliable partner, and accumulated strength to retake Kamakura.
