Henry Cavill wants The Witcher Season 3 to stay true to the novels

The second season of The Witcher has begun, with the return of characters such as Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer. Netflix recently held the "The Witcher Unlocked" event, where host Felicia Day talked to the actors about their respective roles.

Henry Cavill has a lot of ideas for Geralt, and he discussed other developments in his relationship with Ciriel Nefer, as well as what to expect from The Witcher Season 3, which is almost done.

When asked which character he would like to see further developed, Cavill highlighted Nenneke, a key character in the books. "If we stay true to the books, I think we can explore Geralt and Nenneke's relationship further," Cavill said. "Of course I would love to work with the witchers again, but it depends on how much the story allows. I'm a big fan of the novels, and this is to make sure that as the story develops, there aren't too many red herrings."

In The Witcher Season 2, Geralt spends much of his time with his adopted daughter Ciri, and is reunited with Yennefer, who has her own plans for Ciri as part of her quest to regain her power. Cavill said Yennefer's actions were so extreme that it's hard to forgive.

Anya Chalotra, who plays Yennefer, also has her own views on the direction of Yennefer's development in The Witcher Season 3. "It's a habit, isn't it? She has her own principles in life, doesn't trust anyone, and it's difficult to change her lifestyle. Maybe she has learned to think more about things, but in such a violent world, you have to take care of yourself first."
