Fantastic Beasts 3 is titled Dumbledore's Mystery and will be released on April 15, 2022

"Fantastic Beasts 3" is officially named "The Secrets of Dumbledore", and the official translation is temporarily "The Mystery of Dumbledore". It will be released much earlier than we thought.

Warner Bros. announced the official title of the film and confirmed that the release date has been moved up by three months. The third installment in the magical series is now scheduled to be released on April 15, 2022, instead of July 15, 2022. In addition, Warner also plans to have its big-budget movies in 2022 released only in theaters again, which means that "Fantastic Beasts 3" will only be released in theaters. Previously, its 2021 movies were launched on HBO Max and theaters.

Officials also released the first synopsis of "Fantastic Beasts 3":

Professor Dumbledore knows that the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is out to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop Grindelwald alone, he entrusts magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead a brave team of wizards, witches, and a Muggle baker on a dangerous mission. During their mission, they'll encounter beasts old and new, and clash with Grindelwald's growing army of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore sit on the sidelines?

Most of the cast from Fantastic Beasts 1 and 2 will be back, but this time Mads Mikkelsen will replace Depp as Gellert Grindelwald. Technically, Mads is the third actor to play the role, after Colin Farrell played the character first as Percival Graves, an alter ego created through shapeshifting magic, and then Depp played the live-action version.

"Fantastic Beasts" is planned to be made into five parts (originally planned to be a trilogy), and each movie takes place in a different city: the first one is New York, the second one is Paris, and the third one is Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
