"G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes" postponed to next year, "Scream 5" is scheduled

Paramount Pictures announced in a media announcement that the spin-off film "Snake Eyes" of "G.I. Joe" will not be released as originally planned on October 23, and the postponed schedule will be October 22, 2021. "Snake Eyes" will focus on the masked ninja "Snake Eyes" in "G.I. Joe" as the narrative center, telling how he became a ninja of the Arashikage clan.

At the same time, "Scream 5" has confirmed its release date as February 14, 2022. "Scream 5" is co-produced by Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Group. The film will be directed by Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the director team of "Ready or Not", and the famous actors of the series, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, will play their respective roles again.

In addition, Paramount also announced that a film directed by Lee Daniels will be released on February 12, 2021. The title of the film has not yet been announced, but it is certain that it will be a biographical film about the life of legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday.

The movie version of "Big Red Dog", originally scheduled to be released on November 13, will be postponed to November 5, 2021. In addition, a "Paranormal Activity" series movie with an undetermined title has been postponed from March 19, 2021 to March 4, 2022.

In addition to postponing the release of a large number of films, Paramount also canceled the filming plan of a movie in collaboration with Hasbro. The film was originally scheduled to be broadcast in October next year, but has now been shelved indefinitely.

Paramount is just one of the film studios hit hard by the pandemic. Disney also delayed Kingsman: The Golden Circle by five months last week. Perhaps Paramount should also consider releasing a digital version to recoup some of its costs.
