Street Fighter live-action movie set for March 20, 2026, director still to be determined

According to foreign media Deadline, Sony and Legendary Pictures officially announced that the live-action "Street Fighter" movie will be released in theaters on March 20, 2026. The film is adapted from Capcom's classic game series of the same name.

Earlier this month, the original directors Danny Phillip and Michael Phillip announced their withdrawal from the film production due to schedule issues. Legendary Pictures has not yet announced the new directors, but judging from today's news, we can expect details of the film to be announced soon.

It is worth noting that the March 20, 2026 schedule is very popular, and many films have been confirmed to be released during this period, including: Warner Bros.' 3D animated film "The Cat in the Hat" (March 6, 2026), Mike Flanagan's new version of "The Exorcist" (March 13, 2026), and Universal Pictures' box office blockbuster "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" sequel (April 3, 2026).
