The horror movie "The Shining" was released in 1980 and is still an unsurpassed classic in horror movies. After 39 years, its sequel "Doctor Sleep" was finally announced and will be released in North American theaters on November 8. In order to lead fans to relive the classic before the sequel, "The Shining" will be re-released in 4K version on September 26 and October 1.

The novel Doctor Sleep was released in 2013 and is a direct sequel to Stephen King's The Shining. However, it is worth mentioning that the ending of the original novel and the movie are completely different (even Stephen King himself is dissatisfied with the movie adaptation), and the director Mike Flanagan also confirmed that Doctor Sleep will be modified according to the movie version of The Shining: "It is not only adapted from the original novel, but also a sequel to the 1980 movie The Shining."
