In a recent interview with comic book writer David Finch, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman let slip that Asian-American actor Steven Yeun will play the superhero Sentry in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thunderbolts. During a livestream on Thursday, Kirkman revealed the actor's first appearance as a Marvel character. The Sentinel, also known as Robert Reynolds, first debuted in the comics in 2000 and has since become a member of many Marvel groups, including the New Avengers and the Dark Avengers. In fact, rumors that Steven Yeun would play Sentinel first emerged in February of this year, but Marvel officials have not confirmed the news. Regarding Steven Yeun's involvement in the new film, Kirkman shared: "Yeah, he called me and he went to try on the suit. I hope I didn't... I don't think it's a spoiler or anything that's going to cause trouble for other people." The suit will allegedly draw inspiration from classic colors and is expected to be yellow and blue. This is similar to the color scheme of the suit of the animated protagonist of "Wallace", voiced by Steven Yeun. Thunderbolt is expected to be released on July 25, 2025. Director Jack Schreier hinted earlier that the film will offer audiences something "different." The cast also includes Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Florence Pugh, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, David Harbour and Harrison Ford. |
