Gran Turismo live-action movie grosses $23 million

Sony's Gran Turismo has now grossed $22.7 million in theaters, according to DEADLINE. The film, inspired by British professional racing driver Jann Mardenborough, reached that mark 10 days after its release in the United States.

According to the media, the film will also be released in Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan, Italy and South Korea.

As of August 13, the film grossed $10.7 million in 30 markets.

Sony has other live-action cross-media projects: A live-action adaptation of Chariots of Fire launched on the streaming service Peacock in July. Although it did not provide ratings, the platform's parent company NBC Universal said the show became the platform's most watched comedy two weeks after its release.
