The Hollywood Walk of Fame will honor Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman with a posthumous star in 2024. The actor died of colon cancer in August 2020 at the age of 43. He was diagnosed in 2016 but kept his diagnosis a secret until his death. In addition to his superhero role in Black Panther, he has starred in films such as Da 5 Bloods, 21 Bridges, and Mad Max: Black Bottom, for which he was nominated for an Oscar and was posthumously awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance in a Character in a Series for his work in Marvel's What If?. Boseman will be one of the members of the Walk of Fame in the Movie category. Other new members of the category include "Wonder Woman" actor Gal Gadot, Michelle Yeoh, "Dungeons & Dragons" star Chris Pine, 2022 Oscar or Best Adapted Screenplay nominee "Daughter of the Dark" screenwriter and actor Maggie Gyllenhaal, "Original Wednesday" actor Christina Ricci, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and "Super Mario" animated film production company Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri. |
