Marvel's new "Blade" movie is stalled again due to the strike

The Hollywood writers' strike has caused the first major film delay, and this film has been delayed before. IGN quoted sources as saying that pre-production on Marvel's new version of "Blade" has now stalled.

Just a week ago, Marvel hired Nic Pizzolatto, the creator of True Detective, to write the script. It is worth mentioning that Mahershala Ali, the male lead of Blade, had previously starred in the third season of True Detective, so Nic Pizzolatto and Ali were working together again. Just as the screenwriter was confirmed, a strike broke out, and time was running out.

"Blade" is currently scheduled to be released on September 6, 2024. It depends on how long this strike lasts. If it lasts for a long time, the release date of the film may be adjusted again. Previously, "Blade" was scheduled to start production at the end of May.
