"Dune 2" movie is about to release a new trailer: the prince rides on a sandworm

Timothée Chalamet will show how the Fremen prophet Muad'dib should be portrayed in the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve's upcoming Dune: Episode II. "We're going to see Paul Atreides (Prince) become a true leader here," Chalamet said during Warner Bros.' presentation at CinemaCon.

Director Villeneuve and actress Zendaya also attended the exhibition. Regarding her role, Chani, Zendaya described: "She will no longer just appear in dreams this time. I only had a short time to understand who she was (in the first film), and now I really feel that she is a part of me. These are still just two young people trying to grow up, fall in love, and live."

Villeneuve said he was delighted to bring Osuddin Butler into the cast to play Prince Paul's rival, Fede-Rausa Harknin (commonly known as Feyd), who was played by singer Sting in David Lynch's Dune film.

The director added that Florence Pugh's character, Princess Irulan, Paul's fiancée, is "a key figure in the political chess game and brings a sense of mystery." He also said the new film includes new locations and scenes, and was shot entirely in IMAX. Only 40% of the first film was shot in IMAX.

The footage from CinemaCon (which has not yet been leaked) shows Paul and Chani sitting on a sand dune and talking. Paul tries to explain the concept of "swimming" to Chani, but Chani, who has lived in the desert for many years, naturally doesn't believe him. The scene then switches to the first official appearance of Princess Irulan, who wants to put an end to the Atreides once and for all. Finally, the scene shows Paul riding a sandworm, fulfilling the prophecy about him.

Dune: Part II is scheduled to be released on November 3, 2023.
