According to Variety, the Michael Jackson biopic will cost up to $120 million to pay actors and suppliers in California, setting a record for the most expensive filming project in California. The film will also receive $21 million in tax breaks.

The Michael Jackson biopic was created by Graham King, the producer of "Bohemian Rhapsody". The MJ estate committee authorized it to adapt the film copyright of MJ's story and use all of MJ's songs. The director is Antoine Fuqua, the screenwriter is John Logan, and MJ's 26-year-old nephew Jaafar Jackson plays MJ.

The Michael Jackson biopic will not just be a "praise song", but will present his complicated and controversial life.
