The creator of "Squid Game" said that he changed the ending midway because the original ending was not the direction the story should have developed

The second season of the 2021 hit thriller suspense TV series "Squidward Gaming" will be aired on December 26, and the producer Netflix also confirmed this summer that the third season of "Squidward Gaming" will be the final season and will be aired in 2025.

Recently, Squid Game creator Hwang Dong Hyuk (who is the main screenwriter) revealed some details about the ending. He explained: "Usually when I start writing a script, I think about the ending first, and then try to present the journey or the path to the ending in the most interesting way, but this time, things are really different. I started writing this story with a specific ending in mind, but during the creation process, I realized that this was not the direction the story should go, so I changed the ending during the creation process. I think this is the first time I have worked in this way. I think this time, the creative process is a little different."

Dong Hyuk also explained why he thought Squid Game had to end in season 3: "When you finish Squid Game, it's really about Sung Ki Hoon's journey. He came back and gave up on going to see his daughter, and when he got back from the flight, he went back into the game to end it all. So the storyline for seasons 2 and 3 will revolve around his journey, and the audience wants to know, 'Will he succeed or fail?' At the end of the journey, 'What will Sung Ki Hoon be like?'"
