Recently, Chris Meledandri, CEO of Illumination Pictures, which is responsible for producing the Mario movie, accepted an interview with the media and gave his opinion on the casting of the Mario movie. He particularly supports the choice of Chris Pratt, the Star-Lord of "Guardians of the Galaxy", to play Mario, and also confirmed to the media that the Mario movie has been three-quarters completed. Chris Meledandri told the media: "Chris Pratt was chosen because we felt he could play Mario well. Now we have completed 15 recordings and the film is three-quarters complete, and I sit here and say I like his performance as Mario. I think we will do a good job. Especially Chris Pratt's performance is very outstanding." The movie based on Nintendo's most famous game Mario is jointly produced by Nintendo and animation company Illumination. Nintendo's legendary game producers Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri will serve as co-producers. Nintendo has previously confirmed that in the Mario movie, Chris Pratt plays Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy plays Princess Peach, Charlie Day plays Luigi, Jack Black plays Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key plays Toad, and Seth Rogen plays Donkey Kong. The Mario movie is expected to be released in 2023. |
