"The Mandalorian" Season 2 Baby Yoda eats alien eggs, causing a lot of dissatisfaction

The second episode of "The Mandalorian Season 2" was officially aired last week, but one of the links involved in it triggered protests from netizens. The Mandalorian took the mysterious passenger "Frog Lady" and her eggs to a planet suitable for survival for fertilization. This was the last batch of eggs of her race. Along the way, Baby Yoda kept stealing these eggs, which caused dissatisfaction among some netizens.

In response to this, screenwriter Phil Szostak said that these were not fertilized eggs, just like children stealing eggs for comedic effect.

A foreign netizen posted on social media: "I'm a mother, and it's not funny to listen to the frog lady babbling on and on about how important and cute her eggs are to her, and then have to watch them get eaten by (Baby Yoda) on three different occasions!"

Phil Szostak wrote in response: "For the record, this episode clearly points out that, like the eggs that many people like, the frog lady's eggs are unfertilized. It is obvious that chickens do not have emotions, and the children stealing the eggs are not intentional, but for comedic effect. Anyone who likes horror movies knows that disturbing things can make some of us laugh, some disturb others, or both. Everyone feels differently."

Regarding the screenwriter's response, netizens had different reactions. Some said that maybe Baby Yoda is really too young and has a weak sense of civilization and morality. Which child doesn't steal food? But some netizens said that since it has been repeatedly emphasized that if the eggs of Ms. Frog are lost or damaged, the entire race will be extinct, there is no need to use "stealing" to make fun of it again and again.
