The suspense film "Voice of Crime" is directed by Yuya Doi ("Gal") and written by Akiko Nogi ("Unnatural Death"). The film is adapted from the mystery novel of the same name by Takeshi Shiota. It is based on the biggest unsolved case in the Showa period. It tells the story of journalist Eiji Akutsu (played by Shun Oguri) who is tracking the biggest unsolved case in the Showa period. During the investigation, he discovered that a criminal gang used a certain tape to threaten a company.

In Kyoto, Sone Toshiya (Hoshino Gen) runs a tailor shop, following in his father's footsteps. He finds a tape among his father's belongings, where he discovers his own childhood voice. He accidentally learns that his childhood was related to the biggest unsolved case of the Showa era.
