Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) announced on November 11 that the release date of its much-anticipated swimming drama Free! -Road to the World - Dream will be postponed. It was originally scheduled to be released in the summer of 2020, but now it seems that it may have to wait until 2021 at the earliest.

The "Free!" series is a rare swimming series among the many animation factions in the island country. It is produced by Kyoto Animation and tells the inspirational story of several passionate teenagers gathering in the swimming club to challenge their youth and themselves. It is very popular among fans. This time, "Free!-Road to the World-夢" is also a theatrical animation work produced by Kyoto Animation. It is mainly based on the theme of "dreams" and tells the journey of young people chasing their dreams.
