Sina Entertainment reported today (February 4) that the sequel to the classic historical drama film "Gladiator 2" directed by Ridley Scott has been scheduled to be released in North America on November 22, 2024. Paul Mescal ("Normal People" and "After Sun") is in talks to star, and David Scarpa ("All the Money in the World" and "Napoleon"), who has collaborated with Scott many times, is the screenwriter.

It is reported that the leading actor in the first film, Maximus played by Russell Crowe, has died in the plot. The protagonist of this film will be Lucius, the son of Lucilla played by Connie Nielsen and Commodus' nephew played by Joaquin Phoenix.
