The Lord of the Rings TV series does not intend to compete with the Lord of the Rings movies and Game of Thrones

Recently, Patrick McKay, the producer of "The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings", said in an interview with Empire magazine that "The Lord of the Rings" series has no intention of competing with "The Lord of the Rings" movies and "Game of Thrones".

Patrick McKay said: "Anyone who has seen the Lord of the Rings movies will realize that Peter Jackson and his team have accomplished an impressive feat in adapting The Lord of the Rings, and their understanding of the work is very beautiful and correct. We are just fans from afar and will not try to compete with them with The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings."

In addition, Patrick McKay said that "The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings" will not compete with "Game of Thrones". "Game of Thrones" has many similarities with "The Lord of the Rings", but they want to be more faithful to Tolkien's works rather than blindly compare. He said: "If you try to compare with your neighbors, you may lose confidence. You can cheer yourself up when you keep up with others, but one of our mottos is that the original works come first."
