According to Deadline, the new "Star Trek" film is in production, and the cast of the JJ Abrams trilogy is returning, including Chris Pine (as Captain Kirk), Zachary Quinto (as Spock), Zoe Saldana (as Lieutenant Uhura), Karl Urban (as Bones), John Cho (as Sulu) and Simon Pegg (as Scotty). The film is scheduled to begin shooting in late 2022 and will be directed by Matt Shakman, who has directed the Disney+ series "Wanda: Vision", FX's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and HBO's "Game of Thrones". JJ Abrams returns as producer.
