Michelle Yeoh and Fishburne join Netflix's new film "The School for Good and Evil"

Laurence Fishburne and Michelle Yeoh have joined Paul Feig's new Netflix film "The School for Good and Evil".

The film's cast includes Sophia Anne Caruso (Jack of Hearts), Sophia Wylie (High School Musical: The Musical), Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington.

The story is based on the fantasy novel of the same name by Soman Charney, telling the story of best friends Sophie (Caruso) and Agatha (Wylie) who were kidnapped in the School for Good and Evil. Since then, their fate has reversed. When the two try to return home, their friendship is tested. Washington plays Professor Dovey, Theron plays Mrs. Lessor, Fishburne plays the principal, and Michelle Yeoh plays Professor Arnold Monique.

David McKee, who wrote the scripts for Life of Pi and Finding Neverland, and Laura Solon, the screenwriter of Office Party, will write the script for the film. Judging from this screenwriter combination, Netflix intends to make this film into a fantasy and comedy film.

Director Paul Feig has been known for his comedies for many years, and his latest film, A Simple Favor, is a change of style for him. Moreover, he has demonstrated his ability to handle the theme of female growth in this energetic comedy thriller. There is no doubt that Paul Feig is a very qualified director for School for Good and Evil.

The project was originally set up at Universal Pictures, but Netflix acquired the rights in 2020. The film is currently being filmed at Belfast Harbor Studios in Northern Ireland and is expected to land on Netflix in 2022.
